Prof. Onyemaechi Valentine Ekechukwu

Professor Onyemaechi Valentine Ekechukwu is a distinguished academic specializing in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Applied Renewable Energy. A graduate of the University of Ibadan with a B.Sc. in Chemistry, he earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK. With over four decades of academic and professional experience, Prof. Ekechukwu has served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and as Director of Research & Innovation and ICT at the National Universities Commission, Abuja. His expertise extends to policy development and renewable energy advocacy, earning him the Excellence Award in Solar Energy from the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria. Prof. Ekechukwu has held numerous leadership roles, including chairmanship of multiple Project Planning Committees and membership in national and international advisory groups. As an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and Fulbright Senior Research Scholar, he continues to contribute to science, technology, and innovation globally.
