Foster unity among Imo State indigenes within the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Promote and protect the interests of its members within legal and ethical frameworks.

Support the growth and development of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

AboutMoments from Our Events

Below are highlights from some of the impactful events organized by the Imo Professors Forum.

  • 1ST HEARTLAND LECTURE: Held on 29th November 2023 at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium (PAA), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, this inaugural lecture set the foundation for our annual lecture series, fostering intellectual discourse and community engagement.

 

  • 2ND HEARTLAND LECTURE: Took place on 19th November 2024 at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium (PAA). This event continued the tradition of excellence, bringing together scholars, students, and stakeholders for meaningful conversations on advancing academic and societal growth.

 

  • THE IMO PROFESSORS FORUM HELD IT'S 3RD ANNUAL HEARTLAND LECTURE SERIES on the 12th November, 2025 at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium, University of Nigeria, Nsukka under the chairmanship of Rt. Hon.Goodluck Opiah (Former Minister of State for Education). Other dignitaries at the event include Prof. S. U. Ortuanya, Vice Chancellor, UNN, represented by Prof. K. O. Usman (DVC-Academics) UNN; HRH, Eze Francis Emeka Ujagba, Otundu Mmirinezoroha of Amanator, Okoro Orlu; Prof. Ikechukwu N. S. Dozie, VC, Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University, Ogboko, Imo State; Chief Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye, MD/CEO, Praco International Ltd, Abuja, as Special Guest of Honour. The host was Prof. B. G. Nworgu, IPF Chairman and Hon. Commissioner, for Productivity, Labour and Employment, Imo State.

 

  • THE IPF 2025 4TH QUARTERLY MEETING held on Saturday, 29th November 2025. It was hosted by Prof. Nwanya at Alvin Loving street, UNN. The meeting was presided over by the IPF Chairman, Prof. B. G. Nworgu and witnessed a large turnout of members including the DVC (UNEC) and Vice Chairman, IPF, Prof. J. U. J. Onwumere; the immediate past Chairman of IPF, Prof. Peter Akah among others.

 

  • THE IMO PROFESSORS FORUM (IPF) END-OF-YEAR PARTY took place on Thursday, 11th December 2025 at the Residence of the IPF Chairman, No. 310 Marguerite Cartwright Avenue, UNNThe event witnessed a large turnout of members who came together to share a delightful time of celebration and thanksgiving to mark the end of another remarkable year.Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards of honour to members of the Imo Professors Forum who got retired, including Prof. O. Anyanwu and Prof. B. C. Madu.

Professor NwaJesus Anthony Onyekuru was recently appointed the Pioneer Director ọf International Collaboration and Linkages at University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, Imo State, where he is on Sabbatical leave. He combines this role with the Headship of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the same University.
